All the clients, the products, the big design reveals, our own Moore House branded products—none of it would be possible without the spectacular team here at Moore House Design. They all work so hard to make beautiful things and they’re all fantastic at their jobs. So we thought it was time to introduce you to the whole squad. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our talented designers:

Name: Blair Moore
Role on the Moore House team: Founder & Creative Director
Design background: I started off in business school in Australia studying marketing and advertising, but went on to earn a design degree from Parsons in New York City. After winning portfolio of the year, I went on to win awards from H&M, Kering Group, and Conde Nast for my design work. After I graduated, I spent time in Italy working for Gucci and Bottega Veneta before coming back to the US to help launch a new sustainable start up with Kristy Caylor & Mary Saunders. I started developing Moore House and Moore House Design in 2017.
Favorite element of interior design/ working in design: The story. Every space we create is focused around that. Great design can invoke emotion or a past memory. I love creating this with each one of our clients. What emotion and feeling do they want to create within their home? Each story has a layering of color, scent, texture, proportion; and my favorite part is putting it all together for our clients. After months (or years in some cases) seeing it all come together, well, that’s just the icing on the cake.
What do you like to do in your free time: You don't start a design business if you want free time and you don't start one if you are not already obsessed with interiors. I’m an all day, every day kinda gal when it comes to the spaces we create. I love sketching out new space plans on my off time and painting. My bad habit is a 10PM glass of white wine and watching terrible TV. Like the worst TV imaginable. Good Trouble on Hulu is where it’s at for me.
Something fun/ quirky about you: I’m obsessed with Oreos dipped in milk. The original kind only! I can’t get behind the thin or double stuffed. But they’re a serious vice.
Favorite food, drink/cocktail or snack: I love an old fashioned. I can only ever drink one (I’m getting to old for multiples) and they have to have a good Luxardo cherry. I love lobster, obviously Oreos, and mangoes. I also love trying new restaurants and new foods. I had salt and pepper crickets in Thailand and they were amazing!

Name: Bromley Moore

Role on the Moore House team: Director of Operations

Design background: On the job experience! With a family that has been in the design field for more than 30 years, Bromley grew up immersed in everything home renovation & design. Her experience in customer service & systems makes her the backbone to all of our Moore House Design projects.

Favorite element of interior design/working in design: Furniture design and fabric sourcing.

What do you like to do in your free time: Garden, sleep, and sleep some moore :) pun intended

Something fun/quirky about you: I’m extremely picky when it comes to soda water. The bubbles have to be just right and I’m obsessed with tiny furniture.
Favorite food, drink/cocktail or snack: Tequila water with lime, frozen clementines (recently), and ANY TYPE OF CHIPS

Name: Taylor Long

Role on the Moore House team:
Junior Designer

Design background: Graduated from Pratt Institute with BFA in Interior Design and an AA degree in Communications. I worked in several different interior design, architect and event design firms before joining the Moore House Family!

Favorite element of interior design/ working in design: My favorite aspect of working in design is curating spaces that evoke serenity in order to enhance connectivity between one another. To do that requires getting to know the emotional landscape of our clients in order to tailor the space to the individual needs and bring beauty into the lives of those who will inhabit the spaces we design.

What do you like to do in your free time: Take my dog Lady for a walk, go to the beach, visit new places most of all! Give me all the restaurant recs, please!

Something fun/ quirky about you: I have so many nicknames for my dog and cat I'm pretty sure they don't even know their real names!

Favorite food, drink/cocktail or snack: Gin and tonics! And I'm always here for the Trader Joe's Chili Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips.

Name: Rebecca Small

Role on the Moore House team: Junior Designer

Design background: Went to James Madison University for architectural design, soon after graduation began working for 2Hands Studio, another small family based architectural design firm located in Newport, RI as a design assistant until getting hired by Moore House Design.

Favorite element of interior design/ working in design: Going to meetings on site and watching elements you've only seen on your computer in a design program come to life. Getting to sit on a piece of furniture you built in 3D is the ultimate endorphins shot :)

What do you like to do in your free time: I love to go for really long bike rides, and try out every new restaurant in RI that I hear about.

Something fun/quirky about you: I am an 80-year-old in a 24-year-old body.

Favorite food, drink/cocktail or snack: Favorite cocktail: Spicy Paloma, favorite snack: anything from Trader Joes.

Name: Katie Watts

Role on the Moore House team: Project Manager/ Vintage Procurement

Design background: Attended film school for second college degree, but left short of graduation to work on a major motion film, otherwise on the job experience.

Favorite element of interior design/ working in design: Sourcing vintage finds.

What do you like to do in your free time: Sit on beach with a book, work on my inlay jewelry, or hit the gym.

Something fun/quirky about you: I’ve taken trapeze lessons

Favorite food, drink/cocktail or snack: I love bread but try not to eat much of it, love organic lemonade but am often caught drinking Coke-a-Cola when I need a caffeine hit, I don’t drink alcohol and as for my favorite snack…ugh, depends on the time of year and whether I can fit into my pants lol!

Name: Amy Nuytkens

Role on the Moore House team: Social Media Manager

Design background: I graduated from Syracuse University’s College of Visual & Performing Arts Communications Design program with a minor in entrepreneurship & emerging enterprises. After graduation I worked as a freelance graphic designer for various companies in the Boston & RI area, then I took a job with CVS Health as a member of their in-house beauty ideation team where I worked primarily on content creation for social streams as well as front & back-end email marketing.

Favorite element of interior design/working in design: It sounds corny but I really love all things design—graphics, packaging & branding all of it. When it comes to interiors I think furniture design is really interesting because of how sculptural it can be. I think as an exercise it really allows for designers to use a different part of their brains. Definitely something I'd like to get into! I also love materials… don’t know many interior designers who don’t (though I’m not one, yet).

What you like to do in your free time: I love being outside or in the water as much as I can year-round lots of surfing (yes, even in February), & working out. I do a lot of art in my free time, especially in the summertime, specifically painting surfboards.

Something fun/quirky about you: I’m kind of obsessed with skincare and according to the Moores I drink psychopath coffee (meaning it’s very strong)!

Favorite food, drink/cocktail or snack: I have seasonal favorites, but this time of year it’s gotta be home made street tacos or sushi. Prosecco or iced coffee with Oatly—tough call. Favorite snack would be fresh fruit—oranges in the winter & nectarines or berries in the summer.
